IKEA products and furniture are perfect for your homeschool organization needs. And if you have an IKEA store within driving distance of your home, you really do need to go check it out!
On a recent trip to visit our old stomping grounds in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, we stopped in at our old IKEA store where I used to take my little boys to get us out of the house so many years ago.
Here are some of the items that caught my eye for homeschool organization.
Please note that these prices are in Canadian dollar amounts.
The RASKOG utility cart has so many uses for homeschool. It can corral any small items that need a home. Things like craft supplies, morning basket, notebooks and folders, pens and crayons, teacher’s books, or manipulative.
IKEA is a great place to find interesting chairs for your homeschool room.
They have seating at every price point.
For only $16, you could afford to buy several to fit around your homeschool table.
What makes IKEA stand out as a store is the way it displays its products in true-to-life room remakes. You could imagine buying every item for sale in this mock-up because it all works together flawlessly.
So even if you don’t have a big budget to buy everything at IKEA to furnish your homeschool space, you could still take a walk around the store to get inspiration.
I loved this set-up because it had a computer desk plus a taller work counter with a stool. I could totally see a family using a space like this for homeschooling.
IKEA furniture is really unique in that many options are mix and match, like this table top and legs. I just love the stool too!
These are the famous BILLY bookcases, and you can see some creative set-ups for their products, even in a small space.
If you have young kids, the MALA easel is a great product.
Here’s some more information about the BILLY bookcases, which can be set up in different configurations to meet your needs.
The FINTORP hooks look great in so many places, including the homeschool room.
Having this hook and rod system with the buckets is a great way to keep writing instruments nearby your students without the constant clutter on the tabletop.
Here’s the complete price on the GERTON beech table with chrome plated adjustable legs.
Here’s some inspiration on how you might organize your homeschool supplies in a utility cart. The cart could easily be wheeled into a closet when not in use.
Here’s a minimalist design that could accommodate two learners together at a table. The stools could tuck away underneath when not in use.
But what makes this table even better is that you can adjust it from a sitting table to a standing table! Cool. I know some kids who would benefit from having standing desks. You too? Here’s the complete price on the SKARSTA desk sit/stand.
This was a cute wall desk that was in a bedroom set-up. I can’t imagine homeschooling on such a small desk, but if your space is tight, this is a great option. Looks great too!
Are you inspired to think outside the box a bit when designed a homeschool space? Or do you think that none of these ideas could work for you because you don’t have a dedicated homeschool room?
Don’t feel like you need a separate homeschool room to make your space look great and act functionally.
I think IKEA is great for homeschool furniture and organization precisely because their products look great in your home and you can make double duty use out of them, as they function beautifully for home and school.

Thanks for sharing. I have 2 of the IKEA Odger chairs. They are amazing. My littlest likes to sit in my lap and they are really comfortable. I added the faux lamb skin from IKEA in the seat too.
