What it means
Just like the natural energy peaks at the start of each New Year, women have peaks and valleys in the monthly productivity capabilities – so plan for it!
You will not be productive for thirty or thirty-one days each month, so you need to plan this reality into your monthly goals.
How to give grace to yourself
Make sure to plan your most important tasks for when you can focus and do your best deep work.
This also means not to guilt yourself into throwing in the towel because you weren’t productive today – or this week.
Remember, we’re looking at our time with a new mindset – 168 hours in a week instead of just 24 hours in a day, and we’re creating goals for each quarter instead of yearly. This way, you can see small wins, but also give yourself grace in the short term for multiple days in a row of feeling in a productivity slump because of hormones and monthly lows.
But, when you’re feeling that burst of a monthly energy high, get to it! It’s okay if every week doesn’t look the same – harness the energy when it’s there, and when the energy is simply not there, don’t forget about replenishing your body and spirit. Remember the importance of self care so you don’t burn out.
