Make a Curriculum Switch if You Need To
Cathy Duffy was on episode 116: How to Choose Homeschool Curriculum
Her site, CathyDuffyReviews.com, is a wealth of information as you navigate which curriculum to use in your homeschool. One of the biggest causes of stress in homeschooling is simply not using the right resources. Or, put another way, it’s trying to use resources that aren’t a good fit for you or your child.
Even if you spent a boatload of money on a curriculum, use the freedom you have to change up how you’re using it, or toss it altogether.
It’s okay to make a change in your homeschool!

Take a Break From Your Kids
I know we don’t feel like we can admit this – but even though we love homeschooling our kids (most days), we still need breaks from our kids.
In episode 102 we talked with Lea Ann Garfias, author of Everything You Need to Know About Homeschooling. It was a refreshing episode because we dived into topics that we don’t always feel the freedom to discuss as homeschool moms. One of those areas is that we do need breaks from our kids.
So, if you’re dealing with homeschool stress, consider how you might find a solution from Lea Ann’s advice.
Recognize Your Child’s Own Progress
Do you ever have the nagging feeling that maybe your child is behind? I did a whole episode on that topic! It’s a common fear and can bring unnecessary homeschool stress. But once you listen in on this wisdom from Nicki Truesdell, you’ll realize that you can alleviate a lot of stress by having the proper perspective of your child’s own progress.
If you want to hear the full conversation with Nicki, who is the author of Anyone Can Homeschool, then check out episode 85.
